Your travel choices when working for us

Make Your Commute Count

Why Travel Sustainably?

  • Save Time: Use your commute to exercise, catch up on hobbies, or connect with your community and colleagues, rather than sit in traffic or search for a parking space.
  • Save Money: Cut down on travel expenses in the short and long term.
  • Help the Environment: Reduce your carbon footprint and support our goal of a net zero NHS and halving emissions from staff travel by 2033 (NHS England- Net Zero Travel and Transport Strategy).

Consider your journey:

  1. Travel Less: Can you combine trips or reduce your travel?
  2. Travel Differently: Can you use alternative methods of commuting, even just occasionally?
  3. Work Flexibly: Are you able to adjust your work schedule to travel less?

Explore your options

By choosing active and sustainable travel, you're not only improving your health but also contributing to the wellbeing of our community and the environment. Let's work together to make a positive impact!

VAWG - Never Alone Bus - Square.jpg - Lady using mobile phone to text stood at bus stopNew and improved 24/7 TravelSafe LiveChat launched to help Bee Network passengers report issues on the network

A new and enhanced 24/7 TravelSafe LiveChat allowing passengers to discreetly report criminal or antisocial behaviour on public transport has been launched as part of ongoing efforts to make passengers safe, and feel safe, while travelling on the Bee Network.

Building on the existing LiveChat managed by Greater Manchester Police, people can now report issues to the revamped service via the Bee Network app, connecting them to police call handlers within seconds/minutes.

Several key changes will be introduced to improve how non-policing incidents are handled:

  • Live incident sharing: All LiveChat contacts that do not require a police response but may warrant action from TfGM or transport operators will be passed to TfGM in real time via At Hoc, a well-established channel already used between GMP and TfGM for missing person reports.
  • Airwave radio contact: Future plans between GMP and TfGM is also in scope.
  • Enhanced call handling: GMP call handlers will receive additional training and templated responses to better redirect customers reporting non-policing issues.

If a passenger feels unsafe while travelling alone and looking for a distraction, the Bee Network app also provides access to Strut Safe, a volunteer-operated support line which offers people a friendly voice to keep them company over the phone until they feel safe.

Motorbikes, mopeds, and scooters are exempt from the payment aspects of the parking policy, as long as they do not occupy a defined car parking space, block walkways or entrances/ exits.

We also have some motorbike parking areas at certain hospital sites,

We have a very limited number of EV charge points at each hospital site, due to available electrical capacity.  Most of these are also available for use by the general public.
