NCA Digital Strategy

The NCA’s Digital Strategy sets out our digital vision for the future for you – our patients and service users – along with the people who work for us.

As the NCA’s first digital strategy, it details our ambition of saving lives, improving lives by enhancing people’s experiences through the provision of exceptional digital services. This plan is a driving force in us achieving our vision to be safest and most effective organisation in the NHS and the place where people want to work.

What does it mean for our patients and service users?

Our Digital Strategy means we’ve got a clear plan for the future of digital services at our organisation. It means we’re focussed on making changes and improvements so that when you come for an appointment, care or treatment – be that in one of our hospitals, community services or in your own home – you know the colleagues looking after you are using the safest, most reliable and effective systems and platforms. This is better for them and will help to make your care more organised and help support us in our drive towards improved outcomes for your health.

The strategy will also help us to keep up with the ever-changing needs of patients and service users who want to trust they are getting well-planned and personalised care and treatment regardless of the location of this.

Self-care, remote monitoring and treatments are already part of many patients and service users’ care plans. We can expect this to keep on developing so that more and more people can get more hands on in terms of their own care, for example, accessing their own health records and managing things like appointments and treatments remotely.
