Manager of Ward 1 Emma Cotterill was thrilled that Maddie could be recognised for her amazing contribution.

She said: “Maddie has a genuine, caring nature, and cares for our patients extremely well, of which is evidenced in our Friends and Family Feedback. She continually ensures patients are comfortable and had enough to eat and drink and goes above and beyond to ensure their needs are met. She spends time chatting to them, reducing their anxieties, and creating a calming environment. She is kind, caring and considerate of others and an amazing role model to her peers, students, and cadets.

“Maddie has made a great impression on the other ward areas, showcasing her high standards and commitment to care. She is an outstanding health care assistant.”

Healthcare support workers are at the heart of clinical settings and local communities up and down the country, making a real difference every day to the lives of patients they care for and the nursing colleagues they support.
