The Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust (NCA) has been recognised as a Member of the Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter, marking a significant milestone in its commitment to fostering positive employment practices.
The NCA is the first NHS organisation to receive this recognition that reaffirms its drive to deliver the seven core characteristics of good employment, such as secure and flexible work, pay equality, engagement and voice and recruitment, among others.
Nicky Clarke, chief of people at the NCA said: "I am delighted that the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust has been recognised by the Greater Manchester Employment Charter as the first NHS Trust to be become a full member of the Good Employment Charter. We were able to demonstrate how we care, appreciate and inspire our 20,000 colleagues every day in the brilliant work they do caring for the communities we serve. This news coincides with the publication of the NHS national staff survey where we have seen improved scores as colleagues are embracing our flexible approach to working.”
Transitioning from ‘supporter’ to ‘member’ of the Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter involved rigorous evaluation that included a comprehensive assessment and technical panel review, ensuring alignment with the Charter’s seven core characteristics of good employment.
The achievement solidifies the NCA’s standing as an employer of choice and a great place to work. By actively participating in the Greater Manchester good employment movement, the Trust continues to positively impact its workforce of 20,000 employees through the implementation of best practice.
