Tariq Mohammed, Rochdale Care Organisation's BAME Staff Network Lead, and Dr Stuart Stewart, Rochdale Care Organisation's Research Ambassador, are determined to do all they can to improve health inequalities faced by South Asian women.
So, they headed out to Deeplish Community Centre to tackle the problem head on.
They put on a joint education and research session for this hard-to-reach group of women, talking about common women’s health conditions, as well as how to get involved in valuable research.
30 women attended, with seven signing up to a Genes and Health Study, and even more enrolling for a Research for The Future project.
Urdu speaking interpreter, Robina Hussein, helped to deliver the session, whom Stuart says was, ‘excellent!’
The event finished with a free curry!
