Dr Hamish Hunter, who works in dermatology at Salford Royal, has been given the accolade of the chief executive's outstanding achievement award at the recent NCA Colleague Awards.
As Hamish was unable to attend the awards ceremony, his colleague Laura Armstrong collected the award on his behalf.
Chief executive, Owen Williams, said: “I feel privileged to be working alongside Hamish who is an accomplished clinical leader and who has led on dramatically reducing the dermatology backlog waiting list for our patients, together with fellow clinical and managerial colleagues.
“He is well regarded internally, regionally and nationally and, in my opinion, has become an exemplar of what we mean when we talk about the NCA being clinically-led, now and into the future.”
