Right Start and School Nursing brings together all the key services and professionals who are important in a child’s life to form one service, Right Start. The Right Start and School Nursing service works with families all the way through from pregnancy until a child finishes school.
The service provides a range of support from a variety of Right Start and School Nurse practitioners including health visitors, School Nurses, community Staff Nurses, Assistant Practitioners, SEND practitioners and early years staff.
These practitioners work closely with other partners such as midwives, GPs, nurseries settings and schools, Home Start, Positive Steps, Healthy Minds.

You will automatically be referred to the Right Start Team by your midwife during your pregnancy or your GP will notify us if you move into Oldham after your child is born.
Alternatively, you can refer yourself by contacting us directly via your local Family Hub.
