The Panda unit is an integral part of the Emergency Village providing emergency care and assessment for the children and young people of Salford up until their 16th birthday.
The expert Medical and Nursing team is made up of Paediatric and Emergency Medical and Nurse Consultants, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Emergency Nurse Practitioners, Experienced Nursing and Support Staff who work together to provide responsive assessment care and treatment to patients presenting with major and minor illness and injury.
Every year up to 20,000 Children and Young people are seen within the footprint of the Panda Unit receiving Emergency care and if required spending time in the observation area for up to 24 hours with the aim to facilitate rapid assessment, treatment and discharge or transfer.
