The radiology department at Salford Royal provides diagnostic and interventional services to adults and paediatric patients.
Our dedicated radiology team compromise of several specialities such as X-ray, Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance (MR), Clinical Photography, Nuclear Medicine (NM), Intervention Radiology (IR) and Ultrasound.
The specialities within radiology work collaboratively with other services within the hospital and provide enhanced patient care.
Please note the Radiology department is split across two buildings; Turnberg building which houses Radiology 1 and Ladywell building which houses Radiology 2.

On arrival, please check in at reception to ensure you are seen in a timely manner. Each test varies in the length of time it takes for completion, so please read the patient information leaflet carefully. Where possible, please try and attend the appointment on your own.
However, if you have a carer that you require, then please bring them along. There is no capacity to look after children so please do not bring them along with you to your appointment.

The department accepts referrals from staff within other departments in the Trust and from GPs.
Each referral is checked by the radiology department before the examination or procedure is booked. This will ensure the most appropriate examination or procedure is performed.
