The Tissue Viability Service is a nurse led service that provides specialist assessment, advice, treatment, and support on all aspects of preventative wound care as well as specialist advice for acute and chronic complex wounds.
The Tissue Viability Service also supports education, research, policy/guideline/clinical pathway development, clinical audit, and service improvement.
The Tissue Viability Service prides itself on providing a friendly, approachable highly experienced team with years of working within the NHS.
The service provides a range of specialist wound management including:
- Pressure Ulcer Prevention and Management
- Topical Negative Pressure Wound Therapy for management of some complex wounds
- Larval therapy as a debridement agent
- Sharp Debridement for removal of devitalised tissue
- Treatment of venous leg ulcers including compression therapy
- Pressure Ulcer Prevention Equipment advice and support
- Education and Training for all levels of nursing, medical and Allied Healthcare Professionals with the hospital setting
- Support and education for patients and carers
We work in partnership with patients, carers, and healthcare professionals to provide expert wound care advice, pressure ulcer prevention and management and the promotion of how to maintain skin integrity.
