Ophthalmology - Eye Casualties

Today you have been seen in the department as an eye casualty.

Should you need a further appointment, you will be given one before you leave the department.

If you experience any discomfort painkillers, such as paracetamol, may be taken, but do not exceed the recommended dose.

If you have any problems up to 4 weeks after your visit to the eye department, please contact us. A nurse will speak to you about your condition and if necessary, arrange an appointment time for you.

Should you have any problems after this 4 week period, please see your own GP, optician or go to the nearest A&E department. Once your problem has been assessed, you will be advised if you need to attend the eye clinic.
