A piece of foreign material has been removed from your eye. Although most of these injuries heal up completely, there are several things you should bear in mind.
After treatment, your eye may be comfortable due to the anaesthetic drops that have been applied. The effects of these drops will wear off when you get home and your eye may become sensitive again. Please ensure that you use the prescribed eye treatment as instructed.
Your eye may be padded to promote comfort, please note that it is not advisable to drive with one eye padded as it is not safe and therefore your insurance may become invalid.
Normally, the eye injury should heal up and become comfortable in about 24 hours.
Generally, it is not necessary to see you again. However, if your eye seems to be getting increasingly red or the vision is more blurred after the initial 24-hour period, then you must contact us again. It is important to use the prescribed treatment as stated.
When necessary, protect your eyes with a form of goggles. This is essential when hammering, grinding or using garden equipment.
We are always available to answer any questions you may have.
