Discharge advice

These type of fractures heal well in most cases without any problems.

If you have been provided with toe strapping, this can be removed after 2 weeks.

It can be more comfortable to wear either hard soled boots or sandals, moving back into comfortable supportive shoes when the pain and swelling allows.

The pain and tenderness will settle but this can take up to 3 to 6 weeks.

Most patients will have returned to their normal day to day activities within 3 weeks after the initial injury and will be able to take part in sporting activitiy after 6 weeks.

If your symptoms fail to improve by 6 weeks please contact us using the fracture line.
