Paediatrics - Children and Young People Asthma Support - for parents/guardians

The Royal Oldham Hospital is taking part in a new pilot to improve treatment and support offered to children with asthma or related conditions.

If your child is 5 years or older, has asthma and lives in Oldham, they will now receive a FeNO test, which helps to test for lung inflammation by measuring the quantity and pace of breath.

This test will be carried out by a ward nurse who will provide you with further details and support.

At your child’s follow-up appointment, they will also be offered another FeNO test, allowing any changes in condition to be seen.

Please ensure you have read the FeNO information sheet before your follow-up appointment to ensure the test can be carried out. This information sheet will be provided to you on the ward.
