Rehabilitation Service - Your guide to a Pressure Garment

Important information about your pressure garment

Image showing garment you have been issued with and when it should be worn

  • If you are wearing the garment all the time (day and night) it is important that you remove it at least twice a day to check and clean your skin
  • When washing your limb (hand, finger), ensure you wash and dry it thoroughly and massage the skin with a thick cream e.g. E45 or Nivea

A new garment should be worn each day. Wash the garment in warm soapy water and allow to air dry.

Your garment should be worn with the seams on the outside, see photograph. For digisleeves the seams should go on the top of your finger.

Your garment is cut on an angle to fit well into the web spaces between your fingers, see photograph
